Frano is a fifteen year old award-winning musician who started showing his musical talent at the age of two and has been playing various instruments since the age of three. As a live-performance artist & multi-instrumentalist he plays violin, piano, and his greatest love – guitar.

At age of five Frano held his first solo classical guitar concert at the Music Academy of Zagreb. Frano has won several international competitions in music theory and classical guitar. So far he has performed more than three hundred times at various events, concerts, festivals, TV shows and radio broadcasts, and organized and participated in charity projects.

At age of eight he finished elementary & middle music school with excellent success and honors. He was probably the youngest in the world to perform Vivaldi’s Chamber Concerto in D-major RV93 at that age. Also, that was the time he performed first time with his greatest hero – Mr. Tommy Emmanuel, CGP. Their first joint performance occurred in the biggest Croatian national concert hall Vatroslav Lisinski in Zagreb (Croatia), after which they appeared in the concert hall Brucknerhaus in Linz (Austria), Teatro Rossetti in Trieste (Italy) and Philharmonie am Gasteig in Münich (Germany). Later they did many more shows together and Frano as special guest joined Mr. Emmanuel German tour 2016/2017. where they toured across Germany, Switzerland and Luxembourg.

Frano Zivkovic03At his 10th birthday, Frano had a huge honor to be a part of a guitar orchestra and play with the famous Los Angeles Guitar Quartet (LAGQ: William Bill Kanengiser, John Dearman, Matthew Greif & Scott Tennant), performing Shingo Fujii’s “Shiki: Seasons of Japan”, in Nürtingen (Germany).
At age of ten, Frano published his first release as a solo guitarist called “It’s a Secret”, featuring his original compositions. So far Frano already played with, toured or being opening act for international music super-stars such as 2Cellos, Al di Meola, Tommy Emmanuel, John Scofield, Kiefer Sutherland, Manfred Mann, Kaki King, Corrado Rustici & Zucchero and many more. As youngest member of national composer’s society, Frano won “Rudolf and Margita Matz” award for extraordinary talented young composers. One of the highest honors Frano received is original “Yellow Mouse” guitar given to him by Tommy Emmanuel CGP during Chet Atkins Appreciation Society Convention in Nashville, Tennessee, 2018. Year before Frano played Scotty Moore’s (Elvis Presley’s lead guitarist) guitar at the convention’s final evening concert.

At age of fourteen, Frano was graduated from music high school – theoretical department, performed his original “Concerto for Guitar and Orchestra” with Dubrovnik Symphony Orchestra, and continues to develop as a composer and arranger while performing worldwide.

Guitar World – Holiday 2015 Edition

FrontCoverGuitar World is a monthly music magazine devoted to guitarists, published since July 1980. It contains original interviews, album and gear reviews, and guitar and bass tablature of approximately five songs each month.

The magazine is published 13 times per year (12 monthly issues and a holiday issue).

Formerly owned by Harris Publications, Future US bought the magazine in 2003. In 2012, NewBay Media bought the Music division of Future US.

The latter company also published a spin-off title, Guitar Legends, each issue of which typically combined past articles from Guitar World under a specific theme.

In the popular imagination, this is a year defined by its summer – a summer not announced by warmer weather, so much as by the Beatles release of Sergeant Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band in June, and continuing through singles like their own ‘All You Need Is Love’, ‘Itchycoo Park’ by the Small Faces and Traffic’s ‘Hole In My Shoe’. It is also a more symbolic season, in which the tentative drug dalliance, conceptual thought and musical explorations seeded in the previous year all burst into vibrant colour. Or, in the case of the Jimi Hendrix Experience, into flames.

“Bands are leaving the cities. They are growing (and shaving) moustaches. Fans are following them in greater numbers not to scream, but to mingle with them as something like equals, to listen and watch the lightshow. An American city, San Francisco, becomes the spiritual home of this development – generally called ‘Flower Power’, which George Harrison goes to witness in person – and quickly, of its kitsch. The ‘genuine people’, as Graham Nash observes, have already gone elsewhere.

“The Beatles make influential music in 1967, but it may be the Rolling Stones (for whom this is not considered a vintage year) who are the avatars of the culture. In January, Brian Jones tells the world that something called ‘the age of Aquarius’ is coming. It is the sentencing in July of Mick Jagger and Keith Richards that threatens to bring the summer’s idyll to an end. The band’s return with ‘We Love You’ offers a new and ironic note of defiance for the autumn. Come the winter, Jagger will be telling reporters that Satanic Majesties is ‘just another album’, as the year’s costumes are removed and put away.

“The staffers of NME and Melody Maker were there with all these musicians, increasingly for longer periods. Transatlantic travel is fractionally more common, and when the opportunity arises, American groups are visited in their own surroundings. Making music has come to reflect an entire lifestyle, and travel of one kind or another is broadening the mind.
