But he was also a singer/songwriter and certainly influenced by musicians like Leonard Cohen and Cat Stevens.

This is his second album, more acid, sensitive and enigmatic than his first singer/songwriter approach called “Songs of the street”. Andreas accompanies his melancholic voice with guitars, piano, bouzouki, kalimba and harmonica …  Lyrics are in English and only “The stranger” is in Greek. (rockadrome.com)

Great underground acid folk LP by Greek singer Andreas Thomopoulos, that lived in UK(possibly because of the Junta in Greece).Released in the legendary folk label Mushroom this is his 2nd LP,being the first the one called “Songs of the street” on the same label(i think it was 1st label’s release). The melancholic Andreas voice accompanied with a vast of acoustic mostly organs creates a dreamy atmosphere with lyrics both in Greek and English. This record seems to have been vanished friom the face of earth! Inside my wooden tower
I found his name
I saw him waiting
On the platform by the train
They arrested him without regrets
They refused to show shame
They arrested him without regrets

How can you take
All alone this weight

Our sins are hidden now
Though his eyes are red
Inside his prison cell
There is nothing to be heard
Only memories of sounds and lights
Few tears on the floor
Only memories of wrongs and rights

How can you take
All alone this weight

I know that view from us
They’ve sold out on him
His sacred pride is due
To explode very soon
And his songs will never finish, friend
His words will lose their meaning
None of us ever survives this, for

How can you take
All alone this weight
